Nice to meet you and now that our paths cross, I hope you’d enjoy us.
I am a young woman in search of an enjoyable way to rest my thoughts and a couple answers and explanations to life. Sometimes this blog will be an observation or a note, sometimes a rant or a letter. Welcome, welcome.
I like psychology and beauty. From time to time, I write. Occasionally, I share. And very often, I will probably persuade you to think or do something just because I believe it’s good for you and I’d love to share, be careful! And don’t ever feel bad if you only want to read one or two paragraphs, letting go is my love language.
Today, I’m telling you why I write, because what if you have a similar experience and this is inspiring, or what if you like the idea of it.
First reason is personal. I write because I’m easily distracted and forgetful. Writing helps me find what I think is lost or is never with me, but sis, it’s there. It’s like getting a file back from a recycle bin, pieces of info that unfortunately fly pass your shoulder as you are too busy to catch it right during the day.
Secondly, it’s in you. If I can write, so can you. Neither reading nor writing is my cup of tea growing up. However, I think I have always had the desire to try, that’s why I can’t get enough of this friend who has many magnetic traits including her beautiful brown eyes and her love for stories and puns. One day, she gave me a notebook with all the pages already filled with our photos and her handwriting. I felt special and all so I wrote back to her on some fancy paper as an act of reciprocity.
I used to overlook writing because I preferred visuals (I like drawing her and she doesn’t mind). It was after I realized writing is how I recognized not only her feelings for me, but also mine for her, that I became interested. Nowadays, I think I love almost as much as she does, to read, from a tiny little note to a book, as well as to write.
There is a saying that your crushes reflect what you want to be.
Anyway, my third point is that writing is good for soul-searching, almost as great as room cleaning, so clean your room first. A little spiritual journey is good after living a long day.
Why soul-search? We spend a lot of time in our head, it’s good to keep it clean and polished. Moreover, I notice some people’s speaking and writing tones can be so different. You can sound calm and collected when you speak, but soft and eager like a child when you write. Could there be another you waiting for their call? How adorable and full of surprises that is. All you.
This is not all subjective, too, it could be sentimentality that actually leads to practice. Consciousness can be peculiar and funny, for example, the ways turn clear after you recognize the opposite. Suffer to know real happiness. Identify shitty sides of yourself in order to be kind. Something like that.
We are as extraordinary as words can be, that’s why we find divine and dirt, prayer and curse, simultaneously in ourselves. Edgar Allan Poe once said, “tell me every terrible thing you ever did, and let me love you anyway.” No need to be anxious, Mr. Poe must have loved you.
No art, no truths, you may have heard. Even though you don’t write or draw, you can tell your stories. I’m safe though because I’m doing some bedroom cleaning today.
To conclude, for you’re a being beyond complicated, find a way to demonstrate that before yourself every now and then. Like how it is in sports, it’s always easier to send the ball forward when it’s in front of you.
